Tom McGahan is a photographer with over 30 years of experience, specialising in interior and architectural photography that evokes stillness, clarity, and light.
His background spans editorial, commercial, and fine art photography, but over time he has been drawn to the quiet presence of designed spaces — the way light moves through a room, the balance of materials, the rhythm of architecture. His aim is to capture not just the structure of a place, but the feeling it holds.
Tom works closely with architects, interior designers, stylists, and estate agents who value quality and calm. He offers refined, editorial-style interiors photography with a dependable and unobtrusive approach. Based in Essex and working across Suffolk, Hertfordshire, and Greater London, he is trusted by design professionals and premium estate agents alike.
He focuses on creating a cohesive portfolio of images for each client, providing photographs that not only showcase individual projects but also build a strong and consistent visual identity for use across websites, marketing, and publications.
Outside of client work, Tom’s personal photography explores landscape, memory, and emotional presence. His work has been featured in the British Journal of Photography, selected as one of Feature Shoot’s Emerging Photographers of 2019, and shortlisted for the Portrait of Humanity Awards and highly commended for the Belfast Photo Festival in 2023.
His images have been exhibited internationally — in London, New York, and Sydney — and were also included in the world’s first exhibition in space, as part of the Sent Into Space project.
